Great at number 8! New Charter reaches top 10 in best UK company to work for list

Jigsaw Group which owns around 19,500 homes across Greater Manchester and Nottingham is eighth in a top 100 survey of best employers in the country.

The Tameside-based housing association reached number 8 in the 2015 Sunday Times Top 100 Best Not-For-Profit Organisations To Work For poll, voted for by employees.

It is the seventh year running the housing group has been ranked in the top 20.

New Charter, which employs around 1,000 people, has also retained the top three stars in the 2015 Best Companies survey – a Michelin-style rating system for public and voluntary sector companies based on feedback from employees.

The three stars is a stamp of excellence recognising New Charter as an ‘extraordinary’ place to work.

Employees were surveyed from across the Jigsaw Group including its building company and partner landlords Aksa Homes in Oldham, Gedling Homes in Nottingham and homelessness charity Threshold.

In this year’s survey the Group improved on leadership, reaching fifth place in this area. It was also ranked fifth for ‘giving something back’ recognising community days and fundraising activities and for ‘personal growth’, the company came seventh.

Ian Munro, New Charter’s Group Chief Executive said: “Each year, the Top 100 list gets tougher with different companies bringing new ideas so it’s great that we’re still celebrating seven years in the top 20.

“The result is based on feedback from employees so it’s a really important survey for us as a happy workforce means we’re able to deliver better services to our customers.

“We feel very privileged to be voted one of the top employers in the country and I would like to say a big thank you to all our employees for their continued hard work and commitment.”
