Jigsaw Group has been awarded the highest standard for the way it looks after and invests in its employees.

The group, which employs close to 850 people across Greater Manchester and Nottingham, has achieved ‘gold’ status from Investors in People while retaining its health and wellbeing standard.

It is the second time running the company has achieved this top level and met requirements in all 196 areas of the independent review.

Assessors praised New Charter’s leadership and the way the business has handled the impact of recent Government pressures.

Special recognition was given to health and wellbeing in the organisation with policies like flexible working opportunities helping employees to have a good work-life balance.

Assessments took place in July with showcases of different areas of the business and interviews with all levels of staff. It covered important features of people management and personal growth, such as efforts to boost employment in the local community, the passion and motivation of staff and training and development.

Christine Amyes, Deputy Chief Executive at New Charter said: “It’s been a really tough year for the housing sector with Government cuts having a huge impact on the way we operate. “We’ve had to make a lot of changes which hasn’t been easy but this achievement shows how well we’ve coped and is testament to our people management practices.”
