Over a century of service taking retirement

07 October 2013

The Building Company are saying farewell to three long standing employees over the next few weeks as they take retirement:

Peter Oldfield joined the Building Services section of Tameside Council on 24th October 1977 working as a joiner for the Hyde division.  Similarly, Terry Waugh also joined Tameside Council on 7th August 1978 as a joiner for the Stalybridge division and both have put in over 35 years of hard work and customer service for TMBC and New Charter.

Steve Hall served his apprenticeship with North West Gas before joining Tameside Council on 1st April 1975 as a gas fitter and has advanced his career to a Senior Gas Supervisor over the past 38 years.  Again, he has made a significant contribution to the success of the company throughout his many years of dedicated service and has been our lead mentor and role model for our past and present Apprentice Gas Engineers.

With over a century of commitment leaving us shortly, the Building Company would like to pass on our huge thanks for the knowledge and invaluable experience these members of the team have shared with New Charter over the years, and we wish them and their families the very best for the future.
