Procurement

Our Procurement Team work closely to link our suppliers and customers through negotiation and agreement, to achieve increased customer satisfaction and provide added value to products and services.

Our aims are to:

  • Maximise customer satisfaction
  • Eliminate excess inventory
  • Improve delivery performance
  • Maximise the use of electronic procurement

We see a number of people as contributors to this process:

  • Customers
  • Clients
  • Contractors
  • Procurement
  • Suppliers
  • Manufacturers

We at New Charter Building Company have the ability to link all the relevant parties together to ensure customer requirements are met and adherence to specification is acheived.

Examples of the work we carry out would be:

  • Bathroom suites and accessories
  • Kitchen furniture and accessories
  • Wall and floor tiles (both kitchen and bathroom)
  • Roof tiles
  • Heating boilers

We monitor and report back to the supplier on material quality, adherence to specification, delivery timescales and invoice accuracy as part of their Vendor Rating Score. These criteria are also used internally as a key performance indicator.

Our Procurement Team work closely with you as our customer, on a number of key factors which include a clear procurement strategy, effective control systems and development of expertise. These relate to the whole procurement cycle, not just to the stage at which a product is required.

The Procurement Team also hold regular meetings with manufacturers to look at product innovations, to identify where these could be adopted within our system and look at where benefits can be shared with our clients.

We have become service agents for several manufacturers, which ensures the highest standard of service possible in terms of parts management, response time, and the number of jobs completed on the first visit. This also reduces waste along the supply chain from manufacture to installation in terms of time, cost, correct spares and the reduction in our carbon footprint due to reduced distance travelled.

All of these material streams are at the forefront of maintaining our tenants’ satisfaction and the highest level of value for money possible. As a member of the contracting arm of our organisation, the Procurement Team is in a unique position to be able to co-ordinate upstream and downstream activities within the supply chain.
